O Meu Lápis

Era Setembro de 2007. Dei por mim de guitarra na mão a cantarolar o habitual "nanana" que surge quando sai uma progressão interessante de acordes, mas não há letra alguma que ali encaixe. Normalmente quando a harmonia e a melodia ficam definidas, o próximo passo é debitar palavras à sorte, às vezes sem sentido nenhum. Às paginas tantas, surgiu o refrão que dizia: I guess I've found the other half of me. And now I know what is my destiny.
Nessa altura, e inspirado por uma música que sempre gostei, chamada Where The Wild Roses Grow, de Nick Cave, interpretada em conjunto com a Kylie Minogue, comecei a conceber a ideia base que queria para a música: uma história, vivida e contada por duas pessoas.
Alguns dias depois tinha então completa a estrutura da música, bem como a letra, que viria mais tarde a sofrer algumas alterações, passando a chamar-se The Other Part.
Em Janeiro de 2008, com o início do meu novo projecto (In Repair), a voz da Armanda veio trazer sentido ao conceito inicial da música; era entoada agora a duas vozes.
